Veritas IRB

The Veritas IRB
Difference
Accreditation

Veritas IRB was established on the principle that the protection of research participants and their rights should be of paramount importance to all organizations involved in the conduct and/or oversight of clinical research. Since its inception in 1996, Veritas IRB’s board has been dedicated to ensuring that its processes respect participants' rights and that its services are delivered according to the highest standards of ethical and clinical practice.

Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) accreditation by an independent, industry-recognized organization confirms that an organization's processes ensure the respect and protection of research participants, and that their services meet or exceed the industry's standards.

Veritas IRB’s HRPP was first fully accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) from 2006 to 2013, and in 2013 it became the first central, independent review board to be accredited by Alion HRPP Accreditation Services.

During the accreditation process, the independence of Veritas IRB’s board members to approve, modify and disapprove research (Alion Standard #6) was recognized as an Exemplary Practice by the Alion Council on Accreditation. Accreditation by Alion acknowledges Veritas IRB’s long-standing commitment to the protection of human research participants’ rights and welfare.

Veritas IRB made history by:

  • Becoming the first Canadian IRB/REB ever to be accredited
  • Becoming the first central IRB/REB in the world to be accredited by Alion HRPP Accreditation Services
